![]() Don’t think I can palm a basketball though, I wasn’t blessed with an ounce of athleticism and watching me dribble a ball and/or run would make for great entertainment. ![]() My boyfriend (hate that word) is a 6’4″ athlete who can easily palm a basketball and his hands are only slightly bigger than mine. I’m not even joking about my giant hands. Luckily for me I have GINORMOUS hands and have got this polish application thing downpat for the most part so working with the handle was a cinch. The cap and brush handle is interesting as it is rather large and might be awkward for people with smaller hands to grasp and apply polish smoothly if you don’t have steady hands. It was a little slow to dry and a bit thicker than I remembered it being but the coverage was fantastic and I was able to get to bottle color with two coats. The application was pretty fantastic considering it’s been languishing in my polish collection after being used only once before. It is quite unique though and I’ve gotten a few compliments on it so I guess it’s not all that bad. I don’t dislike it but I’m not exactly raving about it. Hampstead Gardens is in fact mustard, not literally mustard so don’t think about spreading this on a sandwich! I went back and forth with this polish because the color is not one that would ordinarily catch my eye but I wanted to give it a try. Even with it on my nails I’m still unsure about it. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while I’m sure that you’ve noticed! L’Oreal’s Hidden GemsĪfter much research, the jury has come back with the verdict that Nails Inc. It’s actually funny because I moved onto Essie polishes right after L’Oreal polishes and I own more Essie polishes than any other brand. I mean L’Oreal polishes aren’t terrible by any means and these polishes are going on 2 or 3 years old but even still the streakiness I encountered with all of these are nothing like I’ve experienced with Essie. I’m really surprised L’Oreal owns Essie because of the vast difference in polish quality. Slap on a shiny top coat and you’ve got perfection! The polish was opaque with just one coat however I used two coats to bring out the full color. This was my favorite polish out of the bunch not only because of how easy application was in comparison to all of the other polishes but of course because it’s pink! Well not exactly pink but a warm rose if you will. Spice Things Up was the only nail polish in this series that was good to me. As with a lot of red based polishes, there was minimal staining however nothing that a good once over with nail polish remover can’t handle.Īlthough this wasn’t the most appealing collection, it does have its standouts and I’m positive Essie is only holding back because they’re planning to wow us with their Spring 2015 Collection! Favorite Julep Polishes A very pigmented polish, Double Breasted Jacket is definitely a one coat wonder although I used two for depth. I love a good pinky-red nail polish and it is definitely holiday festive. Of all the polishes in the Winter Collection, this was my favorite. Have any of y’all tried the Matte Collection? If so, what did you think about it? The Holidays Are Here, Celebrate with Deborah Lippmann!ĭouble Breasted Jacket, my favorite polish in the Winter 2014 Collection was a throwback to Haute in the Heat from Essie Summer 2014 Collection which is actually the polish featured in my banner! Double Breasted Jacket is a tourmaline ruby whereas Haute in the Heat is more a guava but if you mix Essie Watermelon with Haute in the Heat I definitely feel like you get Double Breasted Jacket. Although it lives up to it’s purpose, all the polishes indeed have a matte finish, the formula is not at all easy to work with and for a polish so expensive you’d definitely want to get your money’s worth. The colors are nice, nothing to write home about except for Comfy in Cashmere, but what really does this polish in is the formula. Overall this isn’t the best collection that Essie has come out with. So much for finding a good white polish but this could very well end up being a polish you end up using for nail designs and I really like the color so why not? ![]() I was able to get to bottle with two coats however I used three because the streaks were visible with just two coats. As with the other two polishes, the formula is thick, streaky, clumpy, and does not spread smoothly on the nail. Finding a good white/ off-white nail polish isn’t easy and even though Wrap Me Up is described as a whisper soft pink, to my eye it’s off-white. Other than All Eyes On Nude, this is the polish in the Collection that I was excited to try. Last but not least, well maybe, is Wrap Me Up. Essie Cashmere Matte Collection – Wrap Me Up
